_______________________________________________________________________ Mandriva Linux Security Advisory MDVSA-2009:315 http://www.mandriva.com/security/ _______________________________________________________________________ Package : libneon Date : December 4, 2009 Affected: 2008.0 _______________________________________________________________________ Problem Description: A vulnerability has been found and corrected in libneo: neon before 0.28.6, when OpenSSL is used, does not properly handle a '\0' (NUL) character in a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) field of an X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority, a related issue to CVE-2009-2408 (CVE-2009-2474). Packages for 2008.0 are being provided due to extended support for Corporate products.
