_______________________________________________________________________ Mandriva Linux Advisory MDKA-2006:044 http://www.mandriva.com/security/ _______________________________________________________________________ Package : xinetd Date : October 19, 2006 Affected: 2007.0 _______________________________________________________________________ Problem Description: The initscript for xinetd incorrectly set the locale to en_US. If the localesn-en package is not installed on the system, some xinetd services may not work properly. This was first noted with the svnserve program from subversion. This has been fixed in the updated packages, which set the locale to a generic value. Users not wishing to apply the update can work-around the problem by installing the locales-en package. _______________________________________________________________________ References: http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19106 _______________________________________________________________________ Updated Packages: Mandriva Linux 2007.0: ac25e817ff07d97bc767f58d39e3de74 2007.0/i586/xinetd-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm b7880ba31a6aaa84efa1b4995da222fd 2007.0/i586/xinetd-ipv6-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 949dd4ca7946642cd6549a4a0530472b 2007.0/i586/xinetd-simple-services-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 5d09272d5ced6a25df2c817f23433745 2007.0/SRPMS/xinetd-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2007.0/X86_64: 74327ff362c684a7d4ee2d2d2734e6a3 2007.0/x86_64/xinetd-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.x86_64.rpm d78452e3de40bd4ca2cac6c0d4bf2b3d 2007.0/x86_64/xinetd-ipv6-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.x86_64.rpm 8d24db81c5e28dd92125c374e893198c 2007.0/x86_64/xinetd-simple-services-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.x86_64.rpm 5d09272d5ced6a25df2c817f23433745 2007.0/SRPMS/xinetd-2.3.14-3.1mdv2007.0.src.rpm _______________________________________________________________________ To upgrade automatically use MandrivaUpdate or urpmi.
